Toxicologist

 A Toxicologist studies the safety and effects of drugs, chemical agents, and other substances on humans and animals for medicine, environmental science and to help create policies and regulations of dosage to protect human health and environment. Ph.D. toxicologists interpret data, assess risks, and integrate different studies together and create reports to organizations providing their analysis of the product or compounds for their intended use. 50% of toxicologists have a Ph.D., 25% have a Master’s and 25% have a bachelor’s degree. The median annual wage is $82,000. University studies include heavy biology, chemistry, and math courses. Most toxicologists work for the federal government. You must have analytical and critical thinking skills, time management, interpersonal skills, and understand public health and public policy issues.
