Banting Green and Delicious Hearty Soup December 2016
Banting students love to make and eat healthy low on the food chain soup. The soup is vegetarian using a variety of pulses such as green and yellow spit peas, red and green lentils as well as pearl barley and brown rice. In addition to reducing our ecological footprint with our eating habits we had gift making workshops which included assembling colourful layers of the peas, lentils , barley and split peas in recovered glass jars. I like the variations that can be created by using the base recipe. This would be a great recipe to use in a foods class and then have a "taste test" to see which variety of spices were the most popular
